Questions about Purim?

What does Purim even mean?
Was Vashti actually a feminist?
How beautiful was Esther?
Did Haman have a daughter?
Why is Charbona remembered for good?
What happened to Mordechai after the Megillah?

If these are questions that have been plaguing you, we have an online solution! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, that is ok too!

Rabbi Josh is hosting this one-hour virtual lecture will be held Thursday, February 26 at 6:00pm EST (no online Hebrew class that day). Registration not required and can be accessed on this Zoom link.

Rebbitzen Ijeoma's Rosh Chodesh Book Club
Picture
Rebbetzin Ijeoma formally invites you to join in the first session of the Rebbetzin's Rosh Chodesh Book Club. Rosh Chodesh is particularly designated for women as both are essential in making sure the festivals take place! Traditionally, it also recognizes that women did not participate in the sin of the golden calf.

Our next iteration of Rebbetzin Ijeoma’s Book Club will be on Wednesday, April 15 at 5:00 PM via this Zoom link. As this is toward the end of the month of Nissan when the Exodus is a key theme, the discussion will be Rebbetzin Ijeoma's journey - growing up in Nigeria, meeting the Rabbi and building a family, and immigrating and assimilating into America and the local Jewish community.

A brief discussion of a book featuring the Nigerian-American experience, from a women’s perspective - Americanah by famed Nigerian author Chimamanda Adichie.

As the book club progresses, we are considering a WhatsApp group for texting notifications and continued group discussion. If you are interested - please download the app and sign up if you don’t already have it, then email Rebbitzen Ijeoma to be added to the group.

      Perek Shira Ceremony
                              October 26, 2025

In honor of Parshat Noach, where G-d saves not only humanity through Noach and the ark but also the animals, Rabbi Shorr led a special study session of Perek Shira.  Perek Shira (Chapter of Song) is an ancient collection of verses of how elements of nature including the animals praise G-d.
