Miss Maddie's Art Camp
Thanks for your interest in Miss Maddie's Art Camp at Kneseth Israel. Your child will have the opportunity to socialize as they cooperate, share and learn new skills. Each week your child will engage in open ended art and crafts explorations that include drawings, paintings, sculpture, and pasting. Your child will create his/her own unique project, building his/her own confidence and self-esteem. About the Director... My name is Madeleine Rubin Knoll and I have been the director of the daycare for over 19 years. I am a local Annapolitan artist and was born and raised in the center of Annapolis. I've always believed everyone has the ability to be creative and artistic...all they need is a little push.
"I believe it's important to emphasize , after caring and creating with children for many years, that a child exposed to art helps build his/her imagination, enthusiasm, and a sense of determination. Art encourages independent thinking, develops problem solving skills, and can also enhance individual focus, improve concentration and fine motor skills. Even cutting and gluing for your child may be a skill and challenge in itself. Every child is an artist" - Madeleine Rubin-Knoll, director of Miss Maddie's Art Camp About our camp....
2009 Art Camp Registration Form (Word Document) 2009 Art Camp Registration Form (PDF file) "The best creative environment encourages children to be playful or silly, to be alone or bored sometimes, to explore or even fail sometimes... Children may not choose to 'go on with art' as they grow older, but it will always be a part of their life. The most valuable things they get from art -- the flexibility, the decision making abilities, the confidence in their intuition, the feeling of celebration they bring to any creative endeavor" --Sally Warner, Encouraging the Artist in Your Child |
